Rio–New York: Brazil’s GOL To Launch First-Ever Long-Haul Flights This Summer
Brazilian carrier GOL Linhas Aéreas has revealed plans to launch its first long-haul passenger route, connecting Rio de Janeiro with New York, reports PR Newswire. The airline will begin nonstop flights between Rio de Janeiro–Galeão International Airport (GIG) and New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) on July 8, 2026. The service will operate three times per week and represents a major milestone for the airline, which has historically focused on short and medium-haul operations.
