Redeem Hilton points for England v India IT20 cricket
As you can see from the picture below, the Hilton Garden Inn hotel at Old Trafford cricket ground in Manchester occupies a unique position.
Many of the rooms directly overlook the pitch, allowing you to watch a game from your balcony.
This allows Hilton to offer some unique cricket redemptions to Hilton Honors members, both in the hotel itself and other parts of the stadium.
Packages have just been launched for England v India on Saturday 4th July.
This is what is currently available:
- Bid for a pitch-facing room for a two night stay. Three packages are available with a 50,000 points minimum bid for two people. Package includes a three-course dinner for two on Friday 3rd July, hosted by a cricket legend, and breakfast each day.
- Bid for a VIP Hospitality Experience. Three packages are available with a 40,000 points minimum bid for two people. Includes full hospitality in the Century Lounge.
- Bid for general admission tickets. Five packages are available with a 20,000 points minimum bid for two people.

Home2 Suites comes to Europe with a Dublin opening
Home2 Suites is a Hilton brand which you are unlikely to be familiar with. Not only is it focused on the extended stay market but, until this week, it didn’t exist anywhere in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Situated on Marlborough Street, the property has a mix of studios and one-bedroom suites, all with a kitchenette.
Rooms seem relatively small, given that they are aimed at longer stays, running from 25 sq m to 32 sq m. That said, it is happy to accept one night bookings – there is no minimum stay requirement.
It is important to remember that Home2 Suites earns Hilton Honors points at the lower rate of 5 points per $1 spent, compared to the ‘full service’ rate of 10 points per $1. You will still earn one Elite Qualifying Night for every night you stay.
