Split payments start-up Hands In secures partnership with Outpayce
Split payments start-up Hands In has announced a partnership with Amadeus’ payments division Outpayce.
The deal will see the flexible payments service developed by Hands In being provided to Outpayce’s network of airlines and travel merchants.
Split payments allows customers to use more than once payment type for a single transaction allowing them to manage payment for a high-value item like travel.
Hands-in says its technology creates new revenue opportunities for carriers and tackles rejected payments due to insufficient funds.
The firm is poised to announced a new major Middle Eastern airline as a customer later this year, a partnership supported by Outpayce.
Hands-In said the partnership is “generating strong interest, reinforcing that split payments are now a truly global solution available across multiple markets and regions”.
Samuel Flynn, chief executive of Hands In, said: “Outpayce sets the tone for how airlines design and evolve their payment strategy and we’re thrilled to contribute by focusing on split payments and decline recovery; capabilities we’ve pioneered in close collaboration with Air Europa over the past few years.
“Our partnership with Outpayce from Amadeus further strengthens our position as a global leader in split payments, bringing flexibility and reliability to travel merchants worldwide.”
The partnership with Hands In means airlines using Outpayce as a payment orchestrator will be able to offer split payments across two or more cards directly at the payment page.
Payment declines due to insufficient funds or card limits is estimated to account for 40% of declined transactions according to Ethoca (Mastercard) research
Damian Alonso, senior vice president and head of product and partnerships at Outpayce, said:
“Travel merchants are under more pressure than ever to deliver frictionless customer experiences, and payments are a crucial part of that journey.
“As the industry embraces the Offer and Order model, partnering with Hands In allows us to bring true flexibility to the checkout, from multi-card and split payments to decline recovery, helping merchant partners, such as airlines reduce failed transactions and capture revenue that would otherwise be lost.”
