Azerbaijan Shuts Southern Airspace After Iranian Drone Incursion

Azerbaijan temporarily closed parts of its southern airspace after drones launched from Iranian territory entered the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, reports Reuters. One of the unmanned aircraft reportedly impacted near Nakhchivan International Airport, raising immediate safety concerns for nearby aviation activity. Authorities introduced a short-term Notice To Airmen (NOTAM) restricting flights in the affected area while emergency and security teams examined the site. The precautionary step was intended to keep civilian aircraft clear of any potential risks while officials assessed the situation.
