Qantas Spent 100,000 Hours Reviving Its Final Desert-Stored Airbus A380 – Then A Slat Broke On The 1st Flight

Qantashas returned the last of its stored Airbus A380 to active service after nearly 2,000 days in long-term desert storage at Victorville. Its return marks the completion of the airline’s A380 reactivation program, restoring the operational fleet to ten aircraft after two others were retired and dismantled for parts. The reactivation has been described as one of the largest maintenance undertakings in Qantas’ history.
