GMF AeroAsia completes K-Mile Air landing gear overhaul

Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia (GMF AeroAsia) has completed a Boeing 737-800 main landing gear overhaul project for Thai-registered express cargo airline K-Mile Air within the agreed turnaround time.

The project supported an aircraft during its third overhaul cycle and was delivered through what the Indonesian MRO provider described as strong teamwork, effective coordination and reliable execution.

Announcing the completion on social media, GMF AeroAsia said its team managed several major findings during the project, including corrosion on certain components. These findings required additional repair actions and technical coordination with Boeing to ensure safety and compliance standards were maintained.

“Despite operational challenges, the project was completed on schedule thanks to responsive communication, skilled manpower, and strong support from the team,” the company said.

GMF AeroAsia said the successful delivery underlined its ability to manage complex overhaul work while maintaining schedule discipline and technical standards.

The company is Indonesia’s largest MRO service provider and traces its origins to the Garuda Indonesia Technical Division. Based at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, GMF AeroAsia serves customers from more than 70 countries.

It holds civil aviation authority certifications from more than 20 countries, including the FAA in the US, EASA in Europe, CASA in Australia and Indonesia’s DGCA.
