Some European sale inspiration
Conrad Athens The Ilisian opened at the end of last month after renovation from its former incarnation as the Hilton Athens.
The first Conrad in Greece, this hotel is described as an ‘urban resort’. With views over both the Acropolis and the sea, it is located in the city centre within walking distance of pretty much anything a visitor might want to see including historical monuments, galleries, shops and a plethora of restaurants.
The resort element includes an indoor and outdoor pool (pictured above), fully equipped gym, spa and pilates, yoga and cycling studios, with more to come.

There is nothing urban about the Grand Hotel Sablettes Plage, Curio Collection by Hilton positioned directly above the beach of Les Sablettes in La Seyne-Sur-Mer in the south of France.
This historic resort (dating back to 1880) has 75 rooms over four floors and offers both indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness centre and treatments within it’s spa. There are two restaurants – a terrace cafe, open all day, and Le Navigateur ‘maritime brasserie’, with more dining options on the boardwalk directly by the hotel, or in the old town which is a 10 minute walk away.
The closest airport is Toulon which is 30Km from the hotel, with both Marseille and Nice in striking distance at 90km.
The Waldorf Astoria Helsinki is another Hilton hotel that would make an excellent base for a summer break. The neo-Renaissance buildings date back to 1885 and were in use as barracks and government offices before being carefully restored into a hotel.
Rooms feature spa style bathrooms (some with their own saunas) and are all stylishly and exceptionally well decorated with excellent lighting. The spa and dining facilities reflect Finnish culture and are very well executed. This hotel is highly recommended by the HfP team – both Conny and Katie visited and loved it.
Hilton hotels in London
Of course the Hilton Sale is also a great opportunity for a staycation in London.
The luxury hotel NoMad London is a fabulous conversion of the Grade II listed Bow Street Magistrates Court and Police Station. Situated in Covent Garden, the hotel offers 91 artwork adorned rooms including 16 suites.
The Twenty8 NoMad restaurant (pictured above) offers French brasserie style dining with influences from NoMad’s New York roots, as well as afternoon tea in a modern-day palm court. There is also a very cool bar, Side Hustle, located in the former police station, offering more casual dining, while residents can also enjoy lunch, dinner or just a drink in The Library over looking The Royal Opera House.
Hilton have recently added to the Curio Collection by Hilton properties in London, and Rhys’s review of this new addition, The Derby London City is coming soon.
In the meantime here are his other Curio Collection by Hilton reviews for inspiration for your next London stay – he’s done the full set!
