Although American Airlines has the largest number of hubs of any US airline (ten), it arguably has the weakest hub structure out of the US three. It has three hubs in the Northeast, one of which is heavily constrained and cannot accommodate longer flights (Washington National), while it has only one hub on the West Coast.
